According to Franklin County Municipal Court records, the woman reportedly told officers that her husband had shot her son. She said that prior to the shooting, Davis had been “kicking and punching” her.

Court records said Davis had gone to the next-door neighbor’s house after the shooting with the gun he had reportedly used during the shooting in his hands. He told neighbors, according to court records, that he had shot his eldest son. It was not clear if Davis is Farmer’s biological father. During an interview with detectives, Davis denied assaulting his wife or child and said he shot them in self-defense.

Davis is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
