As of Friday night, officers with the Gainesville Police Department were still searching for a 13-year-old boy who went missing from his home just two days before Christmas. Some neighbors say they saw the boy before he disappeared.

Officials say 13-year-old Ean Stephens was reported missing Thursday after he left his Oak Glade Apartments home on Southwest 30th Terrace. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Missing Child Alert on Friday.

Officers say Ean was wearing a black hoodie with the Nike logo on the front. Some neighbors say they saw Ean playing in the area the day before. One couple, in particular, say they immediately bonded with Ean after only knowing him for a short time. Now they just want him home safe.

“Ean is a neighborhood kid, he’s a neighborhood fixer and we really miss him because he talks to everyone,” said the Rev. Marvin Green, a neighbor.

“He is a super friendly, nice boy and we always ask him about school and education because we are educators. We just miss Ean and are just asking the neighborhood for him to come together, please care and pray. Let’s get Ean home wherever he is. We are praying that he is safe.”

Florida police are asking for help finding a 13-year-old boy last seen in Gainesville on Thursday.

Ean Stephens is described as being 5 feet 4 inches tall and around 120 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark gray shirt, black shorts and possibly black shoes in southwest Gainesville, not far from the University of Florida campus, the Gainesville Police Department said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Missing Child Alert on Friday.

A neighbor told WCJB that the missing boy is a “super nice and friendly kid.”
