After fleeing a traffic stop, a woman led an officer on a chase in Palm Beach County and rammed him with a stolen U-Haul truck before he shot her, authorities say. Ginger Taylor 31, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated flight and eluding, reckless driving and resisting with violence on Sunday, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said. James Boswell, 27, also faces charges after officers found him in the stolen U-Haul truck, though it’s unclear what he’s charged with. PBSO said Boswell also had an active out-of-state warrant for his arrest at the time of his arrest.

Shortly before 4:00 am, agents stopped the U-Haul van in Royal Palm Beach. It was then that they met Boswell, who was driving the truck. When Boswell was arrested, Taylor slid into the driver’s seat and fled.

The U-Haul was seen an hour later at the Royal Inn Hotel, about nine minutes from the traffic stop. Taylor, again, fled. This time, she rammed the car into the officer. She subsequently shot him.

For the third time, Taylor escaped, this time heading north until she crashed into the fence of a house in Loxahatchee. She jumped out of the car and ran into a backyard.

Agents finally caught up with Taylor shortly thereafter. When she was found, she had a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to a nearby hospital. The officer was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the State’s Attorney’s Office and PBSO Violent Crimes detectives are investigating the shooting. The deputy has been on administrative leave since Sunday night.Read More…..
