Mark Wahlberg updated the listing for his palatial Beverly Hills mansion by cutting the price by $8 million after taking the property off the market in late October. Wahlberg listed the 30,500-square-foot home for $87.5 million in April, but has now dropped the price to $79.5 million. The ‘Father Stu’ actor, 51, slashed the price in an effort to sell his mansion, located on Oak Pass Road in a gated enclave, nearly eight months after initially listing it. The property will reportedly rank among the top five most expensive home sales in Southern California in 2022 if he sells it before the end of the year.

Wahlberg bought a piece of land in Nevada in 2009, where he intends to move for a better quality of life and lower taxes. After building his ideal family home there, he took the first step in selling his Beverly Hills mansion in April, 13 years later. The castle-style residence was designed by architect Richard Landry, who previously built Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s Brentwood home that is now owned by Dr. Dre, according to the Daily Mail.

During a recent interview with The Talk, Wahlberg revealed that he said goodbye to the Golden State in search of a “better life” for his children in Nevada. Elite Agent reported that he has already purchased two properties in the Silver State, a $15.6 million 2.5-acre block of land in an exclusive area and a $14.5 million bungalow for his personal use.

Wahlberg paid $8.25 million for the property in 2009, and development was completed in 2014. The home features formal living and dining rooms, as well as a two-story entry foyer with a bridal staircase.
