Mass Shooting in Downtown Louisville incident detail

“LMPD has confirmed a shooting situation in downtown Louisville with multiple victims,” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear tweeted. “I’m heading there now. Please pray for all the families affected and for the city of Louisville.” Monday’s shooting occurred two weeks after three children and three adults were killed in a mass shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the Louisville shooting to call 574-LMPD. The lone gunman opened fire in the Old National Bank’s first-floor conference room around 8:30 a.m. local time, according to authorities. The suspect had a connection to the bank, possibly a former employee, police said.

Eyewitnesses said the shooter appeared to have been armed with a long gun. “He just started shooting,” Troy Haste told ABC Louisville affiliate WHAS. “Whoever was next to me was shot. I have blood.” Police said the suspect is dead and tweeted that “suspected shooter has been neutralized,” adding: “There is no longer an active threat of assailant.”
