Uros Blazic Wiki – Uros Blazic Biography

Police have arrested a 21-year-old suspect after a gunman killed at least eight people and wounded 13 in the second mass shooting in Serbia this week. The suspect was identified by local media as Uros Blazic, who was captured after a nine-hour manhunt involving more than 600 officers, elite anti-terror units, dogs, drones and a helicopter. A man armed with an automatic rifle opened fire from a car driving through a city and two villages south of Belgrade on Thursday night in an attack described as a “terrorist act” by Bratislav Gasic, the interior minister.

It came a day after the worst school shooting in recent Serbian history, in which 13-year-old Kosta Kecmanović killed nine people, including eight fellow students, at a Belgrade school. The youngest victim in Friday’s shooting was 15 years old. A 21-year-old off-duty police officer named Milan Panic and his younger sister are also among the dead.

The gunman was reported to have managed to escape by kidnapping a taxi driver and forcing him to drive by threatening him with a hand grenade. The last mass shooting in Serbia before this week also took place in Mladenovac, when a 60-year-old war veteran named Ljubiša Bogdanović killed 13 people in April 2013.

The back-to-back massacres have left Serbia, which begins a three-day period of national mourning on Friday, in a state of shock, with thousands flocking to memorial sites while others have queued to donate blood. “I heard some tak-tak-tak,” Milan Prokic, a resident of the town of Dubona, said after Friday’s attack. He said that he first thought that the villagers were shooting to celebrate a childbirth, as is traditional in Serbia.Read More…….
