TEXAS: A San Antonio man has been charged with fatally shooting his 22-year-old girlfriend after she told him she did not want their baby. Adam Byrd, 23, fatally shot Jade Alyssa Alvarez just days after robbing a store at gunpoint, according to an arrest affidavit.

Alvarez’s body was found with multiple gunshot wounds on April 6 on Capitol Avenue around 6:30 am, KSAT reported. A woman who had been with the victim the night before her murder confirmed to police that Alvarez was dating Bryd. Bryd was reportedly speaking to Alvarez on the woman’s phone and demanded that she be dropped off on Capitol Avenue. Hours later, she was found dead.

At the time of Bryd’s arrest, she already had an active warrant out for her arrest in Bexar County for two counts of aggravated robbery since assault. This incident took place at the beginning of the month. Bryd confessed to murdering Álvarez after he was arrested and questioned about the robbery. She said that before the murder, they had an argument about how she didn’t want to have a child with him, but he did. Bryd even admitted to using the same weapon to kill her that she used during the robbery.
