A woman had “a mental breakdown” and “did not mean to harm anyone” when she was fatally shot by police in Pittsburgh, her cousin told Fox News Digital. Adrienne Arrington 39, was in an abandoned home in the St. Clair section of the city Friday afternoon when someone called police to report a “suspicious person,” according to Allegheny County police. Police invaded the area and SWAT trucks rolled through the neighborhood.
“The female began shooting at the officers,” Allegheny County police said in a statement. “The female left the residence with a handgun pointed at the officers.” Police responded and killed Adrienne Arrington according to police. Arrington’s cousin, Musa James, told Fox News Digital on Saturday that her older cousin was “in mourning” and that her abandoned house was her place to grieve after her mother and the her brother died there.

“She was having a mental breakdown and they probably didn’t try to defuse the situation,” James said. “She was my favorite older cousin. I remember going to her house for snacks when she was a kid, she did my hair and even babysitted my kids from time to time. She was someone she could call on.”
Allegheny County police were called to take over the case, per policy with any critical incident involving an officer. Homicide Unit detectives are processing the scene and interviewing witnesses, according to police. “More information will be provided when appropriate.”
“My heart is so broken,” James said. “Neighbors knew that she went by every once in a while, she even slept on the back porch. Mental health is real and she didn’t deserve death. “She was shot to kill. She probably had the gun because the house was located and it was abandoned. She wasn’t trying to harm anyone.”Read more…..
