Authorities in southern California are investigating a shooting that led to the alleged kidnapping of Andrea Vasquez. According to the Whittier Police Department, officers responded to parking stalls at a park in the city Saturday night after a man reported that an armed suspect approached his vehicle, occupied by him and a female passenger, and fired in his direction.

Andrea Vasquez went missing

The missing woman was identified as 19-year-old Andrea Vásquez. According to police, she is 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 103 pounds, and has auburn hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved top, khaki pants, and low-top black Converse shoes.

Vasquez has a tattoo of the name “Edlyn” on the back of her neck, a tattoo of the constellation Aries on the top of her right hand and a piercing on her navel. Police urged anyone in Penn Park between 11 p.m. Saturday at 1 a.m. m. Sunday to contact the Whittier Police Department Shift Commander at 562-567-9255.
