The boyfriend of a famous Instagram influencer, Beauty Couch, has been arrested and charged with murder after his body was found last week near a burned-out car in Georgia. Eugene Louis-Jocques, 21, of Naples, Florida, has been charged with murder of Beauty Couch, arson and aggravated assault.

He was arrested in Louisiana by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Proactive Enforcement Unit and is now awaiting extradition to Georgia. “Let the message be that we don’t take kindly to people who think they might commit a crime elsewhere and try to hide in St. Tammany Parish,” Sheriff Randy Smith said.

“We were happy to help our counterparts in Georgia locate this suspect and take him into custody so that he can face justice and Ms. Couch’s family can begin to find closure during this difficult time.” According to the sheriff’s office, Louis-Jocques was Couch’s boyfriend.

Beauty Couch cause of death

Authorities have not revealed the motive for the murder. Couch, 22, was an Austell-based Instagram influencer known primarily for her skating and dancing videos. The college student had an estimated 150,000 followers on the photo-sharing app and recently launched her own skating class.

She ‘she was a sweet girl. She never bothered anyone. She never bothered anyone. She was everyone’s friend,” said her mother, Kimberly Couch. The skater’s body was found near a burning vehicle on the afternoon of Aug. 23. In an initial statement, the Cobb County Police Department noted: “Based on the initial investigation of the scene, a crime is suspected and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Cobb County Police.”

Firefighters first learned from Couch’s family that the car they found had been driven by the influencer, whom they had not seen since the previous morning. Police then returned to the area where the vehicle was found and discovered Couch’s body on the timber line, according to the statement.

Days later, on August 25, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office identified several areas where Louis-Jocques might be staying. Around 4:40 p.m. m., detectives saw the suspect driving on Oak Harbor Boulevard. The officers stopped him and he was taken into custody without incident. Read More………
