A rapper was arrested for allegedly killing his pregnant girlfriend just three days after he was acquitted of murdering two men in 2020. Billy Bennett Adams III, 25, known as Ace NH, was arrested Wednesday, February 8 on related charges. with the death of 22-year-old Alana Sims, who was found dead on January 30, 2022, next to her pickup truck, in which her 23-month-old baby was sleeping.

Adams is currently facing charges of first degree murder and killing an unborn child by injuring the mother. Officials reportedly said he killed Sims because he didn’t want to be in her life and wasn’t ready to be a father. Sims was reportedly five months pregnant when she was shot dead. Her baby was unharmed. A passerby found her around 10 p.m., lying on the side of the road in the 10700 block of Pictorial Park Drive, according to The Tampa Bay Times.

Billy Bennett Adams accused of killing girl friend

Adams initially gave conflicting accounts to investigators and claimed that he did not believe in the father of Sims’ unborn child. He claimed that he was home on the night of January 30 and did not know that she was dead. The rapper, who recorded three albums, two EPs and several singles, soon changed his statement and claimed that he was at his friend’s house but not near the scene of the crime. He also gave police a video of him with his friends. However, investigators determined that the video was doctored and was originally filmed on February 1, according to the Daily Mail.

Police said Adams later admitted to shooting but insisted he was in self-defense when Sims pulled a gun on him after an argument. “Initially, Defendant stated that the victim pointed a gun at him, and while Defendant was struggling with the victim, he shot him,” authorities said, adding, “When Defendant was unable to establish the facts, he changed his statement to the fact that the victim pointed a gun at him and he was able to take it away and then shot her in the head in self-defense.”

Adams admitted that he knew that Sims was pregnant and that he was her father. “Less days after he was acquitted of a separate offense, our murder suspect did the unthinkable when he killed an innocent woman and her unborn child,” said Lee Bercaw, acting Tampa police chief, adding: “I hope that this arrest puts some closure on the matter.” the victim’s family, who are mourning the loss of two loved ones. Sims’ came just three days after a Tampa jury found Adams not guilty in the November 2020 murder of Trevon Albury and Daniel Thompson at a Lutz recording studio. During the week-long trial, Adams claimed he heard that Albury and Thompson were planning to rob the studio’s owner, Joseph Meeks. He told the jury of six men and six women that he saw Albury pointing a gun at Meeks, who was working on his computer at the time.

Adams said he shot Albury in self-defense and killed Thompson when he jumped on his gun. The jury believed Adams’ account and acquitted him of two counts of first-degree murder after a four-hour deliberation. “The jury found that you are not criminally liable for that, but I certainly hope that you never find yourself in a situation in the future that might involve something like this,” Hillsborough Circuit Judge Christopher Sabella said.Read More……
