Police accused a woman of murdering her own mother. Widow Anna Jones, 44, a mother of two, was found dead in her home shortly before officers detained her eldest daughter Bronwyn near her. Neighbors said they heard screaming when Jones, 25, was arrested outside her mother’s Edwardian apartment.

A forensic tent was still erected outside the ground-floor front window of Ms Jones’ home, with a police car parked outside her, still yesterday, following her death on Tuesday. Officers had been called just before 8 p.m.

Jones, who also goes by Bron, describes herself as a computer gamer, ‘geek/nerd’, ‘strong and very smart’. She appeared before magistrates in Portsmouth this morning. She says that she studied at the Open University and worked as a volunteer in a charity shop.

Bronwyn Jones accused of killing her mother

A neighbor at the crime scene in Petersfield, Hampshire, who did not want to be named, said: “We heard screaming in the street after it happened, from someone who seemed to realize what they had done.” “It was a big riot, we were terrified. People who lived on the other floors of the same house had to move out for the night while the police investigated.

Mrs. Jones, who has another 20-year-old daughter, Eliza-Jayne Jones, had lost her husband David to her some years ago. She previously lived with Bronwyn in a house in Liss, four miles away, where neighbors said the adult daughter regularly slept in a tent on the front lawn.

Paying tribute, Ms Jones’ other daughter said in a statement: “I love my mother, she meant everything to me, she was my world.” I love you very much, I will always miss you and you will always be in my heart. Rest in peace mommy.’

Police said they found the body as soon as they arrived at the crime scene near downtown Petersfield. A Hampshire Police spokesman said: “Detectives investigating the murder of 44-year-old Anna Jones have charged a woman with the murder of her.

Officers were called to an address on Station Road, Petersfield, just before 8:00 p.m. m. on Tuesday, May 9. Upon arrival, officers discovered Anna’s body and pronounced her dead at the scene. ‘Bronwyn Jones, 25, of Jacaranda Road in Bordon, has been charged with murder. She appeared in Portsmouth Magistrate Court this morning where she was arrested. Police continue their investigation into the alleged murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Crute, the lead investigating officer, added: “We would be interested to hear from any potential witnesses who may have seen or heard anything on Station Road in Petersfield on Tuesday between 3pm and 8pm.” Any information can be useful, no matter how insignificant you think it is.
