Investigators have a 28-year-old suspect, Bryan Christopher Kohberger, in custody in connection with the Nov. 13 slaying of four University of Idaho students.

Kohberger is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University, a source close to the case told Levy.

Authorities did not release important details of the investigation to the public while it was ongoing. Collecting thousands of pieces of evidence, the police department reviewed nearly 2,000 leads related to the heinous murders of the students.
