A top cancer doctor killed herself and her baby at her million-dollar Westchester home in what police are calling a “murder-suicide.” Dr. Krystal Cascetta, 40, was a specialist in hematology and oncology at Mount Sinai in New York City. The horrible incident took place in the baby’s room around 7 a.m. Saturday in the city of Somers, which is in Westchester County, according to ABC7. Police confirm that the scene was “consistent with a murder/suicide.” Police have yet to release the baby’s age and gender, but a due date shared online suggests Cascetta was due in March this year.

DailyMail.com contacted her husband Tim Talty, 37, on Saturday. Talty, sounding annoyed, said: ‘Can you give us some time?’ The couple tied the knot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, in 2019 in a beautiful ceremony, with Cascetta donning a stunning white fishtail gown for her big day. It is not clear if the couple have other children.

A state police statement said: “The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Somers is investigating a murder/suicide in the City of Somers. A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 7:00 a.m. m., Krystal Cascetta entered her son’s bedroom and shot her baby and then herself. “The scene is consistent with a murder/suicide.”
