SOUTH CAROLINA: The suspected drunk driver who struck a newlywed couple as they were leaving their wedding, killing the bride and seriously injuring the groom, allegedly admitted to having two drinks. Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, was “uncooperative” when asked by police to take a field sobriety test, according to newly released affidavits from officers who responded to the scene.

Jamie Lee Komoroski accused of killing brtide

Komoroski was driving a gray Toyota rental car when he allegedly crashed into a golf cart carrying Miller and Hutchinson, and two relatives just after the couple’s wedding reception in Folly Beach. In 2019, she was charged again with exceeding the speed limit by 10 mph or less. She again pleaded guilty and paid an additional $76.50. She was most recently cited for failing to use a turn signal or stop sign, and on April 5 she pleaded guilty and paid a $25 fine.

According to police documents obtained by WCBD, when officers arrived at the scene of the accident, they discovered that Komoroski reeked of alcohol and she told authorities that her disability rating was an eight on a scale of one to 10. According to the affidavits She reportedly told investigators that she consumed a beer and a tequila drink about an hour before the incident. According to the documents, she was reportedly staggering and “strongly refused and was uncooperative” when asked to complete a field sobriety test. She is now being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court in June.

Komoroski could face up to 25 years in prison for the death of her girlfriend, as well as a fine of up to $25,100 and an additional 15 years and $10,100 for the serious injuries he caused to the men in the buggy.
