The 19-year-old man who was fatally shot at the Mall of America on Friday night was identified Sunday as Johntae Hudson of St. Paul, according to Fox 9 Minneapolis.

An altercation broke out at the Nordstrom store shortly before 8 p.m. before someone pulled out a gun and shot Hudson multiple times, according to police.

Johntae’s sister, Janayea Hudson, described the 19-year-old in a GoFundMe for her funeral as a “loving person who is loving to her family and friends.”

“He just radiated fun, positive energy and his smile would light up the room,” she wrote. “He was a great person overall.”

A SWAT team from the Bloomington Police Department conducted a raid at 8:40 AM. m. at a home in nearby St. Louis Park and arrested five suspects, two 18-year-old men and three 17-year-old boys.

“I’m pretty sure we have the person responsible for the victim’s murder in custody,” Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said at a news conference. All five suspects are being held on suspicion of second degree murder.

There were 16 police or security personnel at the mall at the time of the shooting, including an officer at a nearby store who tried to provide Hudson with life-saving measures.

It is the second shooting to occur at Mall of America this year after a shooting broke out at the Nike store in August. No one was injured in that shooting, but five people were arrested.Read More….
