Justin Carver Wiki – Justin Carver Biography

FLORIDA: A Florida man was arrested after police found his mother’s decomposing body inside his home. Justin D Carver allegedly failed to inform a medical examiner about the death of his mother, Layni Carver, 55, and also resisted police without violence.

On May 5, a welfare check was requested at a residence on Turbak Drive in Punta Gorda and officers responded to the call, arriving at the location just before 5 p.m. m., according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. In a press release issued Monday, May 7, the sheriff’s department stated, “After knocking multiple times with no response, deputies searched the perimeter and noticed a foul odor emanating from the residence.”

Justin Carver accused of killing her mother

After officers arrived at the residence, they “observed multiple flies at the east door.” According to the probable cause affidavit, the lead officer identified as Deputy First Class (DFC) Sganga “observed a white male subject, wearing black alligators,” as he was looking out a window. He then tapped on the window and the man identified as Carver immediately closed the door behind him after he left through the east door, Law and Crime reported.

The officers noticed Carver’s evasive behavior and began questioning him about the victim’s well-being,” the press release reads. The affidavit alleges that the 36-year-old man “immediately sat down on the bottom step of the driveway and was on the ground.” Sganga wrote that Carver was asked about the last time he saw his mother. He supposedly replied that he went sometime earlier in the week, but that he couldn’t remember exactly when.

The deputy and the defendant then allegedly argued over whether the police would be allowed access to the house. Carver allegedly said that he did not have a key and locked the door behind him. Sganga then pressed on, the affidavit says, and asked the defendant how he got in in the first place. Carver allegedly did not respond, prompting the deputy to press further.

Carver was then asked about the last time he saw her mother, to which he replied that he saw her sometime earlier in the week and he couldn’t remember exactly when he went. After tricking officers through different rooms of the house, he waited outside with another officer while Sganga conducted a search of the residence.

Once inside the house, the agents were able to locate the victim in a state of decomposition on the floor of one of the bedrooms,” the press release says. Carver was questioned again after being taken into custody. He then told officers that there was a No Contact Order issued against him by the victim. He was also asked if he noticed the smell and he told them yes. The defendant later admitted that he found out that his mother died two days before the wellness check.

Justin was asked why he didn’t notify the police after finding the deceased, and he said, ‘I don’t know,’ and proceeded to shrug and look at the ground,” the affidavit reads. Carver is currently booked into the Charlotte County Jail and his second court appearance is scheduled for May 24.Read More…..
