OKLAHOMA: A triple murderer who removed the heart of his first victim to cook with potatoes was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Wednesday, March 15. Lawrence Paul Anderson, 44, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, one count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and one count of mutilation.

Anderson attacked his uncle, aunt, and his 4-year-old granddaughter on February 9, 2021, after fatally stabbing and cutting the heart of his neighbor. The aunt lived and later claimed that God was with her. He was arrested after officers responded to a 911 call. The man admitted to the killings, telling police that he “cooked the heart with potatoes to feed his family and release the demons,” according to an agent with the Bureau of Oklahoma State Research.

Reports say the “Oklahoma cannibal” was mistakenly released from prison, allowing him to carry out the crimes. The assault occurred three weeks after he was mistakenly let out of prison, according to The Oklahoman. The convicted crack dealer was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2017 for violating his probation in a drug case, according to reports.
