MASSACHUSETTS: In a chilling crime, a Massachusetts man has been arrested in connection with the deaths of two missing men, after their dismembered bodies were found in the bins of their iStorage unit. The suspect, Leonid Volkov, 37, was arrested in the murder of victims Kiryl Schukin, 37, and Pavel Vekshin, 28, on Saturday, April 15, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney.

Both victims were initially reported missing by friends and co-workers on April 9, prompting an investigation. After weeks of searching for Kiryl Schukin and Pavel Vekshin, authorities arrested Leonid Volkov and found the bodies of the missing couple in their Boston iStorage unit. The suspect is charged with murder and additional charges are expected to be filed in the coming days as the investigation continues, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Leonid Volkov arrested in connection with the deaths of two missing men

Authorities revealed that Kiryl Schukin had been a guarantor of the lease for an apartment the shooter owned in Medford. However, during a recent lease extension, the guarantor had other plans and decided to relinquish the role to him, leading to the eviction of Leonid VolKov. The suspect was seen with Kiryl Schukin on March 29, where authorities said they met to rent a U-Haul truck.

Authorities believe that Leonid Volkov used the U-Haul truck to move items from the apartment of Kiryl Schukin and Pavel Vekshin to the warehouse, where the bodies were found. The suspect was seen on video leaving and entering the victim’s apartment, after the last time Kiryl Schukin and Pavel Vekshin were seen alive. On Friday, officials were able to trace the Boston iStorage unit rented by Leonid Volkov under the name of one of the victims, leading to the gruesome discovery.

Investigators found the bodies of the 28-year-old and 37-year-old murdered victims stuffed inside rubber containers and noted that the latter’s body was reportedly dismembered. Along with the bodies, police found bleach, rubber gloves and items they believe belonged to the victims.

The chief medical examiner concluded that Kiryl Schukin and Pavel Vekshin were stabbed to death, according to the New York Post. Although, a clear motive behind the gruesome crime remains unclear. For now, the 37-year-old suspect has been charged with the murder of the slain men and additional charges will be filed as the investigation continues.
