The distraught mother of a 13-year-old boy who allegedly stabbed and seriously injured his older sister at their Queens home on Sunday said she doesn’t understand what happened to her typically friendly son. Rupiah Begum  42, now finds her teenage son accused of assault in the bloody attack, and her 14-year-old daughter in critical condition. “I don’t know what happened,” Begum told The Post from his home in Jamaica on Sunday.

“Everything is generally good. They play together. Normally there are no problems.” The mother-of-five said her son, whose name has not been released by The Post, was “scared” and was speaking to detectives at the 113th precinct while her daughter remained at Jamaica Hospital with multiple stab wounds. .

“She said something was wrong,” Begum said of her son. “He said he was angry. “He stabbed her in multiple places, multiple times,” the mother said. “I do not know what happened”. Begum said she was at work at a McDonald’s about five minutes from the family home at 11th Avenue and 156th Street when she got the call that her son allegedly stabbed her daughter around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

“I was not at home. They called me. An emergency at work,” she explained. She said that her husband, who according to neighbors drives a taxi and owns a taxi service, is traveling in Bangladesh. Police said the teen got into a fight with her sister and stabbed her with a steak knife, then called 911 to report that “someone with a knife broke into the house.”

But police said the injured teen was able to pinpoint her brother as the attacker. The boy later told police that her sister, who suffered stab wounds to her back, legs, thighs, arms and face, was “harassing” him before the attack, police said. A neighbor told The Post that the boy is autistic and that he is often heard screaming.

“He yells a lot and there’s, you know, there’s a lot of yelling,” said the neighbor, who declined to be named. “They came here three years ago. The best neighbors we have ever had. Never any problems at all. “It’s terrible what happened,” he said. “My wife was very upset last night. The entire block was in shock.
