Previous reports blamed alcohol poisoning for the 25-year-old woman’s death. Later, foul play with her family was suspected by blaming her friends with whom Shanquella went on a trip. A GoFundMe started by the victim’s sister, Quilla Long, stated: “My beautiful sister #ShanquellaRobinson recently went on a trip to Cabo, Mexico with people she thought were her friends. During this trip, she was found dead. His associates claimed that he died of alcohol poisoning, but the Mexican government death certificate contradicts this claim, as it reveals a broken neck and a broken spine and a time of death that is 15 minutes after he sustained these injuries.
