Police believe the mother-in-law of NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson, Terry Janway, shot and killed her husband Jack Janway and grandson Dalton Monday night at the family’s Oklahoma home, PEOPLE confirmed. Terry, 68, was found dead inside the residence along with her husband Jack, 69, and her grandson Dalton, 11, police tell PEOPLE.
Terry and Jack are the parents of Johnson’s wife, Chandra. “Please tell me this isn’t really happening, please God, someone,” Marianne Janway, Johnson’s sister-in-law, posted on Facebook around midnight Monday.

Muskogee Police Officer Lynn Hamlin tells PEOPLE that the department received a 911 from a woman they believe was Terry, “who said there was a disturbance and someone had a gun and then hung up” the phone. When officers arrived shortly after 9 p.m., they found a person dead in a hallway of the home, then heard another gunshot from inside the home.
The department says its officer later found two more bodies elsewhere in the house. TMZ first reported the news on Monday. Her deaths are being investigated as a murder-suicide and police say Johnson’s mother-in-law, Terry Janway, is believed to be the prime suspect. “Additional information will be released if available,” the department s68 year.
Muskogee Public Schools released a statement Monday that read: “Muskogee Public Schools mourns the loss of Dalton Janway, who died Monday night. Dalton was a fifth-grader at Sadler Academy of the Arts who was cherished for his teachers and classmates.
