DeKalb police are working a triple shooting where two of the victims have died. It happened in the Cedar Park Place subdivision around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Neighbors were stunned by the violence. “It’s pretty alarming to have two people shot to death right next to my house,” said neighbor Quincy Vinson. Vinson is still trying to make sense of the violence that woke him and his family that morning, struggling to get to safety. “We gathered the children, got them into a safe place in the house [and made sure] that we were all safe,” the father said.

Twayne Worthy cause of death

DeKalb County Police found four different scenes inside the subdivision. One man was seriously injured, two people were killed and at least one gun was found on the ground. Family members revealed one of the deceased victim’s identities   as Twayne Worthy, 37, father of the two.

“I heard some three-something shots this morning, but you know that’s normal. I am surprised that two people were killed and another was injured,” said community activist Amos King. One of the bullets missed resident Eddie Carson’s back. The bullet tore through his bedroom and disintegrated his remote control mere inches from his body.

“If he had been sitting like I normally do, that bullet would have hit me,” he told FOX 5 in disbelief. DeKalb County police have not explained how or why the shooting occurred. The residents of the Cedar Park Place subdivision want to unite and fight crime like this.

“The neighbors have to unite and tell what they see. The police can’t do everything. There are not enough police. So you keep saying we need police, there aren’t enough police,” revealed community activist Amos King. “It’s very unfortunate that it takes place in a residential neighborhood like this.” Police have not made any arrests.
