Vasilious Kafataris Wiki – Vasilious Kafataris Biography
A former English teacher has been accused of grooming four students after an intimate relationship with one of them was discovered through her diary. Vasilious Kafataris allegedly sought out female students at three Sydney schools where he worked for more than two decades, offering them gifts and compliments in an attempt to have sex with them. The 55-year-old man was arrested after his mother discovered a diary entry from one of his students detailing his relationship and activities.
Crown prosecutors allege Kafataris also engaged in sexual activity with three other students as their teacher, calling them after hours, offering them gifts such as money and cigarettes, writing them poetry and complimenting their appearance, prosecutor Georgina Namat told jury Monday. In Parramatta District Court, he pleaded not guilty to 16 counts of child abuse and one count of assault brought on behalf of the four complainants, who cannot legally be named or identified. Kafataris allegedly used a bamboo stick to hit the buttocks of one of the students, who was 15 years old at the time.

Charges on Vasilious Kafataris
“If we weren’t at school right now, I’d lean over and fuck you on the wall,” he allegedly told her. The 55-year-old man is alleged to have entered into intimate relationships with two complainants. Kafataris allegedly gave a student a card and necklace for her 16th birthday and told her they were “two pieces of a puzzle” and reincarnated soul mates.
“It wasn’t long before the flirting, phone calls and gifts increased,” Namat said. They visited an adult store in Bankstown, bought lingerie and a sex toy, and met for sex on multiple occasions, including one in which he begged her, the jury heard. The other girl also took the train to her house to have sex and told her parents that she was studying in the library. CCTV footage to be shown to the jury purportedly shows the teacher and student kissing on the lips in their apartment and at Bankstown train station.
The student opened up to her parents after her diary was discovered, but then she changed her story after her teacher told her to deny it, Namat told jurors. “If anyone knows what happened between them, they could go to jail and not have a job. I don’t want that to happen,” she allegedly told her parents.
Kafataris is also accused of assaulting another student, pushing her against her wall and bringing her face close to his in the classroom after asking if he could defend himself against her. The Crown draws on evidence from former teachers and students to show that the 55-year-old man had a tendency to be attracted to the young women in his class and to act on those impulses.
Witnesses are expected to say he commented on the clothes the girls were wearing in class, made some students sit at his desk and gave another a back rub. “Your uniform fits your curves, thighs and legs very well,” he allegedly told a student.
Upon his arrest, police searched his apartment and recovered a photograph of a student he was in a relationship with on his nightstand and a school uniform skirt hanging in his closet.
A teacher who worked with him at the time is expected to tell jurors that she also had a sexual relationship with the Bankstown man and that he asked her to wear her school skirt when they slept together. Kafataris’ attorney, Rory McCrudden, declined to make opening appearances on behalf of his client, who watched from the dock with her eyes closed as details of the charges were read to jurors. The five-week trial continues with Judge Craig Everson on Tuesday.Read More……
