A 20-year-old man has been arrested following a crash in Sydney’s southwest, which left a brother and sister dead. Paramedics treated 24-year-old Alina Kauffman and her 15-year-old brother Ernesto Salazar but they both died at the scene. Emergency services were called to Sadleir Avenue in Heckenberg on Friday night after reports of a multi-car accident. Police said a black Mercedes and a Toyota Echo collided head-on, before the Mercedes struck a Toyota Rav4 and rolled on its side.

How Alina Kauffman and her brother died?

The two occupants of the Rav4 were not injured, while the occupants of the Mercedes reportedly left the scene. Paramedics treated Alina Kauffman, 24, and her brother Ernesto Salazar, 15, but both died at the scene. Alina was picking up her brother from work when they were attacked a few meters from her house in Hekenberg.

Her mother, Angelina Kauffman, collapsed at the scene of the accident Saturday. “My babies, they took them away from me, my babies,” she said. “My kids were going to help people, my kids wanted to make a difference in this world, my kids were good people.”

Distraught friends and strangers laid flowers at the crash site. A 20-year-old man attended Liverpool Police Station at 2pm on Saturday, where he is assisting police with their investigations. No charges have been filed and investigations continue. Read More……..
