Alysia Salisbury ‘s parents managed to rescue her two older siblings but were unable to save her from the flames. Fire ripped through the family’s home in Pembrokeshire, west Wales, just before 10pm yesterday.

“I have spoken to the parents and they are going through unimaginable pain right now and will be for a long time. “The family moved here about four years ago and although they are very private people, they have become part of our community. “Everyone was inside the house when the fire started. It’s an unbelievable tragedy.”

In a statement issued by Dyfed-Powys Police, the parents described Alycia as “a beautiful daughter and sister”. The family is being supported by specialized officers and it is understood that the community is rallying around the family offering food, clothing and support.

Multiple fire crews attended the overnight blaze and emergency services continued to work throughout the night in an effort to control the fire. County Councilor Shon Rees said: “Our thoughts at this time are with the family during this terrible and tragic time. “This family has lost absolutely everything, including a young child, and we as a community are doing everything we can to support them.”

Senior fire officers remained on the property throughout the day monitoring various hot spot areas that remained inside the home. They are also investigating the causes of the fire. The road where the fire occurred is currently closed to traffic.

DCI Llyr Williams of Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Our thoughts are with the family and the local community at this tragic time.  “HM Coroner has been informed and officers will now work with colleagues from the fire service to establish the cause of the fire. “The family requests privacy at this difficult time.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said today: “We were called shortly after 9.45pm yesterday, May 27, to a residential address in Dolgoed, Crymych. “We sent a rapid response vehicle, an emergency ambulance and we have the support of the Emergency Medical Transfer and Recovery Service.”Read More……
