A former Arizona detention officer who reportedly tried to bring drugs into jail was arrested again Friday for allegedly missing court dates. Andres Salazar 27, was arrested on January 11. Why did Andres Salazar rearrested?

Penzone says Salazar, who works at the Lower Buckeye jail, was found with nearly 100 pills that tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. Salazar has been booked on one count each of possession or use of narcotics, promotion of smuggling in prison, and transportation for sale.

Penzone says theft charges will be added as officer allegedly forged overtime slips Salazar has been with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office since October 2019. MCSO now says Salazar missed two court dates regarding the case, resulting in two warrants for his arrest. One for robbery with a $25,000 bond, the other for two counts of furthering prison smuggling, sale/transportation of dangerous drugs, and sale/transportation of narcotics with a $100,000 bond.Read More……
