ANDOVER, MASSACHUSETTS – A 12-year-old boy and his parents were found shot to death Thursday, February 9, in their home in what appeared to be a gruesome murder-suicide by the father Andrew Robinson. According to the prosecutor’s office, “the incident appears to be a tragic case of domestic violence and murder-suicide.”

The family of three, including Andrew Robinson, his wife, Linda Robinson, and their teenage son, Sebastian Robinson, were discovered dead after authorities responded to a 911 call. According to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, the call came from inside the family’s Massachusetts home at around 3:31 a.m. Responding officers had to break down two doors in the home. Prosecutors said that after officers entered the home, they found the family’s bodies riddled with gunshot wounds.

Andrew Robinson cause of death

Andrew Robinson, 56, lived in his Porter Street home, which has an estimated value of $2 million. Prosecutors said his death appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the New York Post reported. On Thursday afternoon, February 9, District Attorney Paul Tucker testified at a press conference that the incident was limited to the Andover home and there were no threats to the public. Andover Police Chief Patrick Keefe stated: “Obviously we know how; we are trying to figure out why right now, so we will need some time to figure it out,” according to the news outlet.

Sebastian Robinson was a student at St. John’s Prep School in Danvers. The school’s principal Edward Hardiman described the teenager as a “very gentle soul” and an “extraordinarily creative” child. During a press conference, Hardiman declared: “Sebastian was a wonderful young man. He had a kind and gentle presence and was well liked by his teachers,” adding that he played the cello. In September, he enrolled in the school as a sixth grader.

The principal of the boys’ high school went on to say, “As I spoke to his teachers this morning, the description they continually offered is that he was a very gentle soul who was very grateful to be a part of the high school community. He had a tremendous group of friends and was very connected to our music program, to our campus ministry program, and he was someone who was very dear as a gentle soul.” Grief counselors were available at the school when classes were canceled for a day after Sebastian’s death.Read More…..
