Martinez was shot at an apartment complex at Balch and Winery avenues around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, allegedly by Rosalino Mendoza Hernandez, 22, whom she had been dating since the beginning of the year, according to police.

A nearby resident who was working on her car told The Bee he heard eight shots and then noticed the woman running away and trying to get into a car before collapsing. Police said she was found on the street. Mendoza Hernandez tried to flee from police at the scene but was arrested Saturday, police said.

He is a gang member who has previously been convicted of a felony, police said. He remained in custody Thursday at the Fresno County Jail. Police said they expect him to be charged with murder.Read More…….
