A Georgia teenager was missing for more than a week after finishing her final exams, her family told the media. Now they are asking for the public’s help to bring her home. Ashley Nevaeh Bell 14, was last seen on May 24 after school ended at Parkview High School in Lilburn, WXIA reported. She left around 10 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from since.

“She’s quiet, she’s a bit antisocial, so she’s going to be in her own world a lot,” Ashley’s father, Remon Bell, told WAGA. “She’s a player… for her to go on the spur of the moment is very, very different.”

Bell said Ashley and her sister were supposed to leave together after exams, according to WSB-TV. Her sister pulled into the parking lot and found Ashley’s laptop under the car and her debit card on the windshield, she told the station. Gwinnett County Schools officials said surveillance video showed the freshman leaving campus, though it’s unclear where she went, WSB-TV reported. The district police department is investigating her disappearance, according to WAGA.

McClatchy News contacted Gwinnett County Public Schools on June 4 and awaited a response. Family members said Ashley was last seen wearing a white shirt, brown pants and black and white Converse shoes, according to GoFundMe. The teen’s father said he believes her daughter may have been attracted to someone he met online, WAGA reported.

“We really thought that she was just talking to someone on an app and she became friends with them, and they attracted her,” Remon Bell told the station. “Because she never does anything like this.” Since then, Ashley’s family has made public pleas for her safe return. “If you’re watching, come home,” her father told WSB-TV. “No one is mad at you.
