TENNESEE: Brenton Bell a Tennessee a man who allegedly kidnapped a woman and locked her in a closet for approximately two months with little access to food or toilets, was arrested by police on March 15. He is now charged with aggravated kidnapping. Dyersburg, Tennessee police responded to a complaint of domestic violence on Saturday, March 11 around 1:30 p.m. m. on Schaffer Street. A passerby who contacted police told them a 40-year-old woman ran up to a man working at a construction site in the area, she said she was kidnapped and had just escaped, according to a report from FOX13 Memphis.

Responding officers reportedly found the woman hiding under a newly built home. She had facial cuts and possibly weighed less than 100 pounds. The victim told investigators that she was kidnapped and forced to remain in a locked closet for approximately two months and was only allowed out for an hour a day. She also claimed that she was given little food and that she had no access to toilets.

Charges on Brenton Bell

Police located the house where the woman was being held on Ayers Street and found human waste throughout the property, according to a NY Post report. Police also discovered that the suspect had allegedly kept the door bolted with some type of locking device and cable so that the victim could not escape. But luckily, after being held captive for so long, she was finally able to escape.

The victim was taken to West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg hospital for treatment after she was found. And a WRAP advocate was contacted to provide additional domestic violence services to the woman. Brento Bell, 30, was identified as a suspect by the victim. The victim also told police that Bell and the victim were in a relationship that allegedly turned physically abusive, resulting in his being kidnapped and locked up.

After investigating the matter, Bell was arrested and reportedly charged with aggravated kidnapping. Dyersburg police said officers took 30-year-old Brenton Bell into custody on Moss Street in Dyersburg without incident. And currently, he is being held pending Dyersburg City Court action.Read More…..
