Cameron Robbins, 18, was on the ride celebrating his recent high school graduation, and witnesses claimed he was acting out a dare when he jumped overboard, according to WAFB.

The teen was reportedly on the boat with several other recent graduate students, and was seen splashing in the water after jumping in before disappearing. Tributes have poured in for the former high school baseball player, while multiple agencies continue to search for the missing teen.

The 18-year-old had only graduated high school in the days before his trip to the Bahamas, and the teen posted on Instagram the day before he went missing. The US Coast Guard said teams were helping the Royal Bahamas Defense Force search for a missing US citizen who fell overboard from a cruise ship at sunset.

Robbins had graduated from Louisiana State University on Sunday before leaving on the cruise with his fellow students. Pictures shared on his social media page show that he is a great baseball player and his coach described him as a “fierce competitor.” U-High baseball coach Justin Morgan said: ‘Cameron is a boy truly loved by his teammates, teachers and classmates.

“He is a fierce competitor on the baseball field. He is a hard worker both on and off the field. ‘Our school community is struggling right now, but hopes for the best. “Our thoughts and prayers have been and will remain with the Robbins family during this difficult time.”

University Lab School Principal Kevin George said Robbins attended the school during all 13 years of his education. In a statement, he said: ‘The University Lab School community is praying for the best possible outcome of this situation. “I have been in contact with Cameron’s family and at this time authorities are still searching for him in the Bahamas.

‘In times like these, we must come together and support each other. Words fall short to express the concern felt by our entire school community. ‘There will be additional counselors available on campus to speak with students and faculty who are having difficulty processing this news. “Our thoughts are with the Robbins family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts as well.”Read More……
