Tributes have been pouring in for a 26-year-old beautician who was shot dead in a pub over the weekend. Elle Edwards was celebrating Christmas Eve on Saturday December 24 with her friends at the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey, a town near Liverpool, when a gunman entered and opened fire on the pub.
The Liverpool Police Department responded to the crime scene at 11:50 p.m. m. following reports that a gun was fired, with four men also injured in the incident.
Police said the suspected suspect fled the scene in a dark vehicle, believed to be a Mercedes Benz A-Class, which was being driven by another young man.
According to the Liverpool Echo, bystanders at the scene attempted to give Edwards CPR before she was rushed to Arrowe Park Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Edwards was not the intended target, according to Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs, who noted the gunman fired several shots outside the bar before fleeing.
