Emmanuelle Vazquez Wiki – Emmanuelle Vazquez Biography

A Florida man was convicted Thursday of killing his 3-month-old son in November 2018, Volusia County authorities said.  Emmanuelle Vazquez 33, was convicted of one count of felony murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of Julius “J.J.” Vazquez, Florida’s State’s Attorney for the Seventh Circuit, said in a news release. A jury of seven women and five men decided the fate of the father.

A 911 call brought first responders to Vázquez’s residence in Delton, Florida, between Daytona Beach and Orlando. The state attorney’s press release said the boy died the next day at a hospital from multiple traumatic injuries, including brain injuries and lacerations to internal organs.

The elder Vázquez initially denied knowing how his son died, the state attorney’s office said. He later told police that he threw the boy headfirst to the ground. According to the press release, Vázquez was arrested after medical experts narrowed the time of fatal injuries when the baby was alone with his father. He was charged in March 2020, according to Orlando-based CBS affiliate WKMG.

Emmanuelle Vazquez convicted of killing his own son

An autopsy revealed severe internal injuries to the head and upper torso, and the death of J.J. it was ruled a blunt force homicide, deputies said, the television station reported. “Is there any sense of satisfaction?” asked a sergeant at the news conference announcing the indictment. “Yes. But you have to understand that satisfaction comes at the price of a little boy who lost his life.”

State child protective services had investigated the Vázquez family in the past, police said, without elaborating. “Medical science tells us that the number of fractures and trauma that J.J. suffered does not match the ‘I dropped the baby on my head,’” Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood said then. The state attorney’s office said Emmanuelle Vázquez was sentenced to life in prison immediately after the verdict.

“It is difficult and depressing to imagine what 3-month-old Julius went through at the hands of his father,” said State Attorney for the Seventh Circuit R.J. Larizz said after the verdict and sentencing. “He suffered fatal head injuries and a lacerated liver while fighting for his life after the vicious beating he received. Unsurprisingly, the evidence revealed that Julius suffered previous injuries that were in the process of healing. Remember Julius in your thoughts and prayers.”Read More….

When he was arrested, authorities said, his father was shocked and confused. “I couldn’t do this to my son,” Emmanuelle Vázquez insisted, police said.
