Francis Carroll, Charged with domestic terrorism

Last week, five far-left Antifa activists were arrested in Atlanta, Georgia. The group of five organized a protest in opposition to the state’s proposal to clear land for a facility that will train and educate police officers.

Frankie reportedly drove more than 1,300 miles to reach the volatile area where far-left extremists have been gathering since June 2021 to stop what they describe as a “police town.” Authorities said militants hiding in makeshift treehouses attacked them with rocks and bottles and have been harassing locals, according to reports.

Carroll, who deleted his social media accounts shortly before his arrest, is charged with trespassing, domestic terrorism, aggravated assault, felony obstruction, interfering with government property and having tools to commit a crime.

Eight terrorists were reportedly arrested in May when police patrolling the area were attacked and pelted with stones and Molotov cocktails. Following the arrest of six more people in August on charges ranging from theft to criminal damage, left-wing organizations took to Twitter to raise money for their bail.

Group members attempted to burn a man alive after he entered the area; however, after his car was burned while he was still inside, the victim was forced to flee for his life. Defend the Atlanta Forest protested and launched loud fireworks outside the Dekalb County Jail after its members were arrested.

All five are being held there without bail. Atlanta Jail Support, a program of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, also asked people to use Twitter to raise bail money for suspects. Sentences for domestic terrorism convictions can range from five to 35 years in prison.

In a statement, DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston said, “I strongly believe in the right to peacefully protest what one believes to be right and just.
