TEXAS: A Texas man reportedly killed his girlfriend for going to a different state to get an abortion, Dallas authorities said. According to a Dallas County arrest warrant, officers were called to a parking lot on Wednesday, May 10, after 26-year-old Gabriella Gonzalez was fatally shot. Harold Lavance Thompson was caught on surveillance video walking past her just before the shooting. Police said Thompson tried to strangle Gonzalez, but she got away from her. The warrant says that he then drew the firearm from her and shot Gonzalez in the head.

According to court documents, Thompson fired several shots, aiming at her as she fell to the ground, before fleeing the scene. Multiple witnesses, including Gonzalez’s sister, told authorities that they saw him trying to strangle Gonzalez before hearing fatal shots from her.

Harold Lavance accused of killing Gabriella Gonzalez

The warrant says that the duo were in a relationship. There was “an active family violence chokehold order” from a March incident in which “Gonzalez was the victim,” according to court documents, reports ABC7 Chicago. “Further investigation revealed that (González) went to Colorado for an abortion and returned the night before. The suspect is believed to be the father of the child.

The suspect did not want the complainant to have an abortion,” the order says. . “Thompson was arrested after the search warrant was executed and refused to give a statement,” court documents say. Dallas County jail records show Thompson is charged with murder and assault on a family member/household member/impairment of breathing or movement.

Acosta had previously testified that he did not know that his son Abel Acosta had a gun or had shot someone and claimed that the teenager got into his vehicle and told his father to drive away because someone was shooting, according to the New York Post. Abel disappeared shortly after the fatal shootings.
