Heather Glenn cause of death

Glenn tried to subdue the man with the help of an “electronically controlled weapon, but it was ineffective,” police said before Hubert drew a weapon “and Sergeant Glenn was shot.” Hubert also died when officers shot him, state police Sgt. John Davis said during a locally broadcast news conference.

Both the sergeant and the suspect were pronounced dead at the scene. “Our police department suffered a tremendous loss,” Tell City Police Chief Derrick Lawalin said during a news conference. “We lost a dear colleague, a dear friend.” He said hospital staff showed “valiant effort” in trying to save Glenn after he was shot.

Before the tragic shooting, Glenn, a 20-year law enforcement veteran, was investigating a domestic dispute between Hubert and a female victim, state police said. Glenn spoke with the victim when she arrived at Perry County Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries, authorities said.

Glenn and other officers began searching for Hubert, but were called back to the hospital when the victim told hospital staff that the alleged abuser was on his way to the medical center. Lawalin said during the press conference that Glenn was a “cornerstone of our department.” “We are extremely heartbroken,” he said.

Davis, the state police spokesman, said the investigation into the incident is ongoing. “The Indiana State Police would like to offer our condolences to all the families involved in this situation,” Davis said. “We would also like to offer our condolences to the agencies and to all who served with Sgt. Glenn.”Read More……..
