James Ray III accused of killing GF

According to a press release from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Ray was convicted last month of first-degree murder and weapons offenses in connection with the death of Angela Bledsoe, 44, who was killed inside her Montclair house in 2018. He was scheduled to be sentenced on July 11 and faced 30 years to life in prison, reports.

Ray’s original sentencing date was set for June 22, but was moved to July 11 to allow the victim’s family to attend, Robert Florida, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, said in a statement. communicated to PEOPLE. Ray grew up in Brooklyn and spent two years as a New York City police officer before attending law school, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. He also served in the US Navy. After college, she worked as an analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank and then as an associate at JPMorgan Chase.
