Lyons is a former NYPD detective and is the president/owner of Jeremiah Lyons Investigations. Amazingly, Casey Anthony was the first case he ever took on as a private investigator. Lyons got the job after handing his resume to lead attorney José Báez at a conference on capital punishment. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has more than 40 years of experience in criminal investigations, first for the prosecution and then for the defense. His second case is the Aaron Hernandez double murder case in Boston, Massachusetts, and the third is the Gary Giordano case in Aruba, who was jailed after the disappearance of his girlfriend.
After fleeing Florida, the duo traversed Virginia, Baltimore, Manhattan, and the Bronx. The defense team ordered Lyons to immediately bring Casey to Florida, as he was still on probation for lying to police.
