Williams was the other survivor along with McGee. He was found with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Williams is being treated for his injuries at a hospital in a Texas border town, but his wife, Michelle, says she was unaware of his plans to cross the border. She only found out about his kidnapping by the FBI when they informed her, since he had told her that he was only going somewhere to help her friends.

Any communication from her and her son went unanswered, presumably when they were abducted and since she doesn’t see those videos online, she didn’t know what her husband was going through to even connect the dots. Michelle says that she finally got to talk to him and he told her about the injuries she is being treated for and now she is “happy and grateful” that her husband is recovering at Brownsville Valley Regional Hospital. in Texas. “But I’m also heartbroken that the other two families can’t say the same,” she told WBTV.

Authorities were unable to confirm if the detained person is related to the infamous ‘Gulf Cartel’ criminal organization led by a feared leader known as La Kena. However, they are known to operate in the region. Mexican authorities said the group arrived in Matamoros at 9:45 a.m. m. on Friday, March 3, and were caught in the terrifying ambush hours after arriving in town at 11:45 a.m. m. It was thanks to the help of eyewitnesses that the policemen realized the kidnapping and that they were US citizens.
