Mary Todd Wiki – Mary Todd Biography

A fourth person was arrested Thursday in connection with the WWE-style attack on the black co-captain of a riverboat trying to dock in Alabama. Mary Todd, 21, was charged with third-degree assault after turning herself in to Montgomery police and is being held in jail, the department said. Police did not reveal what role she played in the violent melee, but video shows a woman with features similar to Todd’s throwing punches and shoving others during the chaotic fight that some believe she was charged with racism.

Todd is the fourth person charged with misdemeanors in connection with the epic brawl, though police said more warrants for his arrest are likely to be issued in the coming days. Richard Roberts, 48, Allen Todd, 23, and Zachary Shipman, 25, were charged Tuesday with assault. It is not yet clear if Mary Todd and Allen Todd are related. The out-of-control battle erupted Saturday when a group of white boaters parked their pontoon boat at a designated berth for the city-owned riverboat Harriott II, police said.

Charges on Mary Todd

The co-captain of the black riverboat, Damien Pickett, brought another vessel to shore to move the pontoon so that some 200 passengers from the Harriott II could disembark when it came under brutal attack. Wild footage captured several white adults lunging at Pickett in a WWE-style takedown that involved punching, kicking and shoving.

The fight quickly escalated into a frantic battle involving dozens of people, including riverboat crew members who stepped in to help their co-captain, according to police. The brawl ended with people thrown into the river, multiple hit with a folding chair and several handcuffed. A witness claimed that members of the pontoon group yelled the N-word before instigating the giant melee.

Another man said he “was pulling the gun on him” just before a boat crew member boarded him, bystanders told police. At least 13 people were detained and interviewed after the fight, and more people could be arrested as police continue their investigation. Police are still searching for Reggie Gray, 42, who they believe was seen hitting at least two people with a folding chair. Montgomery Police Chief Darryl Albert said his force investigated the possibility of hate race charges with the help of the FBI.

However, they concluded that the fight was not racially motivated, citing what Pickett told investigators. The captain of the Harriott II, Jim Kittrell, thinks otherwise. “There’s no point in six people trying to pick your nose just because you raised their boat a few feet. In my opinion, the attack on Damien was racially motivated,” Kittrell told The Daily Beast.Read More….
