Mass Shooting in Hollywood Florida

Multiple people have been hospitalized after they were shot in Hollywood, Florida on Monday. Nine people, including three minors, were admitted to nearby hospitals after they were shot in the 1200 block of N. A person of interest is in custody and another suspect may still be at large in the area or near the Margarita Hollywood Beach Resort, according to the outlet.

“It’s a fluid situation,” Memorial Healthcare System spokeswoman Yanet Obarrio Sánchez told local news outlet NBC 6. Sánchez added that some of the victims were “a couple of minors.” The spokesperson also told NBC 6 that five of the victims were admitted to Memorial Regional Hospital’s trauma center for treatment.

Mass Shooting in Hollywood Florida

The Hollywood Florida Police Department tweeted: “Avoid the area of Johnson to Garfield streets, as well as the Broadwalk, due to an ongoing shooting investigation. Strong police presence in the area. If you are looking to reunite with a family member, we have set up a reunification area at the Johnson St and N Ocean bus loop.” The Hollywood Police Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Monday night.

Mayor Josh Levy wrote on Facebook: “Thank you to the Good Samaritans, EMTs, Police, and ER Doctors and Nurses for your immediate response to help the victims of today’s shooting. The Hollywood Police Department Public Information Officer will provide more information.”

According to news outlet WPLG Local 10, police have taken one person into custody and are currently searching for another suspect described as a man with dreadlocks last seen wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and camouflage shorts.Read More…..
