More than a year after a Minnesota businesswoman was shot in the back of the head and killed while driving home with groceries for dinner, the teen accused of randomly murdering her will face adult charges. Melvin Dump Williams, 15 at the time of the shooting and now 16, was charged Monday as an adult with second-degree murder in the shooting of Yuliya “Julia” Li, 34, a marketing executive for H.B. Callers to the Ramsey County Emergency Communications Center reported a shooting in the 1000 block of Payne Avenue around 6:45 p.m. Officers responded to the scene and found a female inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound,” police said. “Officers rendered assistance and called Saint Paul Fire medics, who responded and transported the victim to Regions Hospital. Williams was arrested days after the shooting, but the teen with a reported “long criminal history” was not named until Monday, when his case was transferred to adult court. A St. Paul police spokesperson previously told the media that Julia Li was “just doing her day job when she was shot.”
