TEXAS: The devastated family of a 9-month-old boy, who was allegedly beaten to death, said the baby was a born fighter who tried to stay alive in this world. Khyro’s grandmother, Kenya Buggs, added that the boy was born prematurely. She claimed that Khyro had only been out of the hospital for three months when she received the call that turned his world upside down.

“He had severe lung disease and stayed in the NICU for six months,” Kenya said, according to 11alive. “What do you mean Khyro in the hospital? I took care of Khyro that Wednesday. Khyro was fine. I saw Khyro on Thursday. He was fine,” Buggs said, telling the person who gave him the heartbreaking news. Khryo’s father, Michael Fisher, rushed him to the hospital on March 17 because he was unresponsive, investigators said. Three days later, on March 20, Khyro was pronounced dead. Court documents say he died of traumatic head injuries.

Micahel Fisher killed his son

Fisher was arrested on an unrelated warrant before being charged in connection with the death of his son. He was on probation out of Louisiana for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Fisher has a list of other cases outside of Louisiana, court records show. He was recently charged in 2020 with kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Buggs said her family expects justice for the innocent boy. “Michael Fisher is a dangerous man,” she said. “This isn’t his first rodeo where he hurts people. He needs to be locked up.” The father is currently being held on $1 million bail.
