Murat Arpapay Wiki – Murat Arpapay Biography

This is the moment a British man was allegedly led to his death by a 19-year-old Muhterem Percikli ‘honey trap’ in an alleged assassination plot in Turkey. The body of Murat Arpapay, who worked as a translator in Istanbul after spending his childhood in Britain, was found in the ventilation shaft of an apartment rented by residents of the city on July 27. Experts believe the 57-year-old man, to whom his family sent money in England, was killed by lethal injection after being tied to a chair, Turkish police say.

Local media reports that Arpapay had made friends in the Sirinevler area of the city online, before meeting them face to face and falling in love with one of them, a teenager named Muhterem Percikli. CCTV footage has been released showing Mr Arpapay, whose Facebook page suggests he studied at Newcastle College, arriving at an apartment building with the woman he believed to be his new lover.

Percikli has since been arrested by police, while four other people believed to have been involved in the plot to kill him and steal money from him have been named, reports CNN Turk. Police say that after Mr. Arpapay and Percikli entered the rental apartment, three other people entered shortly after: Serpil Demir, Dogan Sariyildiz and Fatih Erginoglu. A fifth suspect was later identified as Ersen Basak.

How Murat Arpapay was died?

According to local media, the suspects told officers that Arpapay had lived in England for many years and that his family had financed him. It is believed that Arpapay had been in contact with Basak on social media before they met face to face before his move to Turkey. It is alleged that Basak then devised a plan to steal money from the victim’s home and sought the help of Percikli and his friend Demir. The couple visited a cafe owned by Basak to meet Mr. Arpapay, which later led to an alleged relationship between Percikli and Mr. Arpapay.

On the day of his murder, July 26, Arpapay and Percikli went to his rental flat in Sirinevler, where they beat him unconscious after the group handcuffed him, according to CCN Turk. The publication claims they then killed him by injecting a chemical into his body, before the gang dumped his body through a ventilation shaft, where he was discovered the next morning.

Meanwhile, the group is believed to have gone to Arpapay’s house in the Bahcelievler area of Istanbul and stole the money he had inside. Local media report that police have launched a murder investigation after an autopsy found that he had been bound by the wrists and injected with something in his neck.

Percikli and Demir were arrested by police after being identified on CCTV footage, with Basak fleeing to Georgia and Sariyildiz and Fatih Erginoglu traveling to Cyprus. Percikli and Demir remain in custody as police prepare to file a ‘Red Bulletin’ request for the arrests of Basak, Sariyildiz and Erginoglu, CCN Turk reports.Read More….
