Rhys Murray was attending the In It Together festival in Port Talbot, Wales, when he suddenly fell ill. Rhys Murray dies tragically after suffering an asthma attack at a festival Rhys and his friends were among the 40,000 people expected over the weekend for the three-day event. But the schoolboy tragically died from complications of a severe asthma attack the first day after struggling to breathe.

Emergency services were called to the festival on opening day Friday, but Rhys died on the way to hospital. Tributes have now been paid to the “polite and respectful” teenager, from Port Talbot, South Wales. Loved ones described the teen as having a “great sense of humor” and a love of the arts. Youth theater group Afan Arts said: “It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Rhys Murray.

“A founding member of our youth theater, Rhys was a highly skilled performer, a polite and respectful young man with a great sense of humour. It has been a privilege for us to have him at Afan Arts and he will be greatly missed. “His passion for acting shone through. This was not more so than in his wonderful performance in the film ‘Same But Different,’ which we know he was immensely proud of.

Rhys spoke so eloquently and passionately about his love for the arts and acting on our Podcast in January. It is a recording we will treasure. “We send our love and support to Rhys’s family, his friends, Ysgol Cwm Brombil and all those affected by his passing. “Afan Arts will use the healing power of the arts to support everyone in the future, but for now we just mourn his passing.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for his Ysgol Cwm Brombil school in Port Talbot said: “We are deeply sorry that on Friday May 26, one of our valued students tragically passed away following a severe asthma attack which led to complications. “Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of this wonderful young man.”Read  More……….
