CHEROKEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: A teenage girl, identified as Riley, accused an Andrews High School football player of sexually assaulting her in a federal complaint. After the incident, her classmates began calling her names, such as ‘slut’ and ‘whore’ as she walked the halls of Andrews High School in the fall of 2021.

Riley now attends her high school in a different county since last fall and suffers from PTSD, anxiety and depression. Marcella, her mother, shares that she used to look forward to school, but she has changed as she sometimes has a hard time staying focused in one direction.
