CHEROKEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: A teenage girl, identified as Riley, accused an Andrews High School football player of sexually assaulting her in a federal complaint. After the incident, her classmates began calling her names, such as ‘slut’ and ‘whore’ as she walked the halls of Andrews High School in the fall of 2021.

Riley accused a football player from Andrews Middle School of sexually assaulting her

Riley alleges that she was left alone and had no support, including teachers, coaches, counselors and administrators. This led her to drop out of the sport she loved and ultimately school. “I felt very broken and defeated.

Marcella, her mother, shares that she used to look forward to school, but she has changed as she sometimes has a hard time staying focused in one direction.
