With Netflix’s true crime documentary ‘Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields’ in the top 10 on the streaming giant’s service, it’s a show absolutely not to be missed. The series tells the story of the unsolved murders of four women whose bodies were found in a piece of land called The Texas Killing Fields in League City, Texas. The documentary series has three episodes.

Texas Killing Fields is a 25-acre piece of land in the area along Interstate 45 between Houston and Galveston. More than 30 bodies have been found in the area between 1971 and 2006, giving rise to its unceremonious nickname. Most of the people whose remains were found on the ground were little girls or adult women, all between the ages of 12 and 25. However, the man who has been on the minds of everyone who watched the show and read about the case is Robert Abel. The man is linked to the deaths of four women, but he was never convicted, according to Newsweek.

In 1984, the first of the four women, with the remains of 23-year-old Heidi Fye, was found on the ground right next to where Laura Miller’s was found two years later. As investigations into Miller’s missing body were underway, another body was found, which was not identified until years later as Audrey Lee Cook, a mechanic last seen alive in 1985. A fourth body was also found six years later in 1991 in the same area and was identified as Donna Gonsoulin Prudhomme in 2019.
