Sarah Comrie Wiki – Sarah Comrie Biography

A pregnant New York City nurse accused of taking a Citibike from a black man outside a hospital has been named by friends as they raise money for her legal fees. Sarah Comrie, 36, has been identified in a GoFundMe requesting donations to help finance bills to “save her livelihood and her reputation” for her. It comes as DailyMail.com is able to reveal the nurse’s Citibike receipt, which her lawyer says proves the bike she was holding in the pictures of her was reserved by her, as the number on the handlebars matches the document .

Justin Marino, who represents Comrie, says the documents show the six-month-pregnant medical assistant had reserved the Citibike outside Bellevue Hospital after her shift ended. Documents show that the trip was ultimately canceled and she was not charged for anything, before reserving another bike minutes after the incident.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, she said: ‘The receipts show unequivocally that she got the bike first. “But there is no animosity towards the men in the video. Frankly, we wish them the best in the future. “The focus is to clear her name and go after the high-profile posts and names that defamed her.”

A fundraiser for the nurse has raised more than $950 so far, and her friends said the “highly publicized incident” painted her as a “racist Karen” which she has since proven “is a lie, but the damage is already It’s done”. Comrie, wearing a blue gown emblazoned with ‘NYC Health + Hospitals,’ could be seen screaming for help and crying as a crowd gathered around her as the video first surfaced.

In the clip a friend of the man can be heard defending him, saying that the woman, labeled ‘Karen’ after the video, was in fact trying to rob him. Marino has vehemently denied these allegations on behalf of his client in a statement referencing the receipts. The first receipt shows that the bike seen in the video was paid for and removed before relocking it a minute later, identified by the number on the handle.

Sarah Comrie accused of taking bike

He says a second receipt is proof that a second bike was taken from the same docking station, which Comrie used to take home. Marino said his client was forced to buy a second Citi Bike after being “interrupted and pressured” into doing so. He says that Comrie has since been suspended by NYC Health + Hospitals after the encounter was recorded, but added that the interaction was “incomplete and lacking in fact.”

The pregnant Comrie had reportedly just finished a 12-hour shift before hopping on an available bike that “nobody was on or touched” and she paid via the app. Her statement added: ‘One or more people in that group physically pushed her bike (with her on it) back into the docking station, causing it to lock up again.

‘When blocking the QR code, this individual’s arm was touching my client’s pregnant stomach, a condition she had informed them of. “Throughout this time and for the rest of the video, about five people were telling her to get off the bike and booing her. “For someone to treat another person like this is tragic, especially to a visibly pregnant woman.”

The New York attorney then defended his client’s reputation by saying that “his entire life has been focused on helping others, regardless of background.” DailyMail.com has contacted Bellevue Hospital for comment but has not received a response. A roughly 90-second video of the incident was posted on TikTok and Twitter and shows Comrie arguing with the man outside Bellevue over the weekend.

One of the man’s friends tells the Comrie that he is recording the situation while the man has his hand on the bike. He then yells for help, saying, ‘Help! Help me! Please help!’ But the man’s friend, off screen, tells him: ‘This is not your bike.’ The hospital employee yells for help again, asking the man to “please get off.”

He then removes his hospital badge in an apparent effort to hide his identity, as one of the men could be heard asking him: ‘You know you’re not going to buy this bike?’ Comrie yells for help again and tries to get on the rented bike, before stealing the man’s phone. ‘Why are you taking the phone from him?’ one of the man’s friends asks. ‘What’s wrong with you? Don’t touch her phone, don’t touch her phone,’ he tells the hospital employee.

Comrie then tells the man that he is “hurting my unborn baby,” to which the man replies, “You put your stomach in my hand.” The woman then turns around and begins yelling once more for help, at which point one of her co-workers approaches. The man tries to explain: ‘This is my bike, it’s on me’ and tells the woman to ‘please move’. At that moment, the woman can be seen apparently crying, although the man’s friends say they are fake tears.

She then continues to get on the bike, hysterical with tears, as her coworker suggests that they just “reset the bike”. But the man’s friends continue to defend him, saying: ‘It’s yours, it’s yours.’ One of her friends accuses the woman of ‘fake crying’ again and tells her to stop, while the man asks her to ‘stop touching me’. Comrie then gets off the bike and apparently stops crying as he pulls the phone out of him.

“I didn’t shed a tear, miss,” says the friend when he ends the video. In accordance with Citi Bike policies, anyone who keeps a bike outside for more than 45 minutes at a time will be charged $0.17 for each additional minute and may have their account suspended. If a customer does not return a bike within 24 hours, the account holder will be charged a lost or stolen bike fee of $1,200 plus tax.

A New York Police Department spokesman said he did not receive any 911 calls or reports about the incident, but he is aware of the video. Meanwhile, Bellevue Hospital said in a statement that it is investigating the incident. “We recently learned of an incident that occurred off campus over the weekend and it appears to involve one of our employees,” he said.

“We are sorry this has happened and we are reviewing the incident.” The hospital added that it is “committed to providing the highest quality care to all New Yorkers with dignity, cultural sensitivity and compassion.” The incident has been compared to Amy Cooper, nicknamed the ‘Central Park Karen’, who called the police on a black birdwatcher in 2020 and lost her job.

Cooper, who accused a black birder of threatening her in 2020, lost a lawsuit against her former employer for firing her after the incident in September 2022. At the time, she claimed that she was illegally fired and falsely portrayed as a racist by New York investment house Franklin Templeton following the May 25, 2020 incident. The next day, May 26, 2020, Franklin Templeton said in a tweet, that she received 277,000 likes, that she conducted a legitimate investigation and “determined beyond dispute” that Cooper was a racist and fired her.Read More……
