NORTH CAROLINA: An altercation inside a Fayetteville hookah bar escalated and resulted in a fatal shooting in the establishment’s parking lot. In the incident, one person was killed and four were reportedly injured during the brawl on Sunday night. On April 2, 2023, at approximately 10:55 p.m. m., Fayetteville Police Department officers responded to the 5000 block of Yadkin Road for reports of a shooting. “There were four other adults who were transported to a local hospital. One is in critical condition and the others suffered minor injuries as a result of the shooting,” he added. In an unrelated event, another shooting occurred around 3:45 p.m. m. in the parking lot of Trader Joe’s in the West Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on April 1. The suspect fled in a red Honda and a brief pursuit ensued until the driver slowed down. He was later taken into custody.

Arrested on suspicion of murder, the suspect, whose name is Mark Connole, is being held at the Van Nuys County Jail. According to MEAWW, his bail was set at $2 million, while three people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
